You are familiar with how to install a standard wall-mounted showerhead but would you rather try a modern, versatile handheld head? It's easy to install a handheld showerhead! You'll love your new showerhead as soon as you learn what tools you will need and the steps to follow.

Notify: The handheld showerhead kit should include a hose as well as a mounting bracket. If the mounting bracket does not have a rubber washer, you will need to use pipe thread or a Teflon tap.

Step 1: Disconnect the Old Shower Head

First, remove the old shower head from your shower. To make sure you have a firm grip, wrap a washcloth around your shower arm closest to the wall. You can keep your pliers and the shower arm from being scratched or damaged by placing a washcloth between the shower arm & pliers.

Wrap another washcloth around the place where your old showerhead is attached to your shower arm. Next, clamp the shower head attachment and washcloth with the adjustable wrench. Turn counterclockwise until the old shower head is removed completely.

Step 2: Get ready

After you have removed your old showerhead, clean the threads with a toothbrush. If there is no rubber washer in the mounting bracket, wrap pipe thread or Teflon around the threads of the shower arm. You don't have to use any pipe thread or tape if there is a rubber washer within your mounting bracket. Start aligning the mounting bracket with your shower arm.

Then, screw it in clockwise to secure it. You can tighten it tighter if you need it. Wrap a washcloth around the bracket and use your adjustable wrench to tighten it. But, be careful not to damage the shower arm or mounting bracket threads. The mounting bracket should be screwed on with the open end facing up. The middle piece of the mounting bracket should be facing down. This is where your shower hose will be attached.

Step 3: Assemble

Once you have installed the bracket, attach the shower head to it. Attach the shower hose to the bracket by turning the regular nut-type end clockwise. Then, tighten it manually. Next, attach the handheld showerhead to the cone-shaped end by tightening the screw clockwise.

Once the cone-shaped end is attached to your new handheld showerhead handle, it will slide into the mounting bracket. This allows you to return your handheld showerhead to its mounting bracket when it's not being used or when you wish to mount it. These simple steps will make it easy to install your handheld showerhead.
